Escape to Paradise: A Weekend in Cox’s Bazar

Every time I hear “Cox’s Bazar,” I feel an instant wave of relaxation. It’s a place I’ve been to countless times, but this recent trip was something special. After months of being cooped up with assignments and exams, the sound of the waves crashing against the shore felt like therapy. The longest sea beach in the world, and in my heart, the best place to recharge.

The Journey Begins

It all started on a sunny Friday morning. My friends and I decided to take a break from city life and dive into an impromptu Cox’s Bazar getaway. We packed light—just the essentials: sunscreen, sunglasses, and excitement. The bus ride was full of laughter, snacks, and terrible music (thanks to my playlist, which was both loved and hated equally).

Six hours later, the salty air welcomed us as we stepped off the bus. The sight of the endless blue ocean meeting the sky is something that never gets old. It’s moments like this that remind me why Cox’s Bazar is close to my heart. It’s not just the beauty, it’s the memories attached to it. I’ve been here as a kid with my family, on school trips, and now, with my friends.

The beach vibes

We checked into a small beachside hotel, not too fancy, but comfortable enough for our short stay. The first thing we did? Drop everything and run to the beach. You know that feeling when your feet touch the sand, and you just stand there, feeling grounded, yet completely free? That’s the magic of Cox’s Bazar. The beach stretched out for miles, dotted with colorful umbrellas, beach chairs, and happy tourists soaking up the sun.

Sunset Magic

Now, Cox’s Bazar is known for its sunsets, and this trip did not disappoint. As the sun began its descent, the sky turned into a canvas of orange, pink, and purple hues. We sat on the sand, with our feet dipped in the cool water, watching the sun sink into the horizon. There’s a kind of peace that only comes when you’re staring at the sunset, with no deadlines or worries, just the rhythmic sound of the waves and the occasional chatter of friends.

Food for the Soul

No trip to Cox’s Bazar is complete without indulging in the local seafood. We hit a roadside stall for some fried calamari, grilled fish, and spicy prawns. It was the perfect end to a day full of beach fun. The flavors were so fresh, and every bite reminded me of why I love traveling to coastal towns. The food just has a different kind of magic, and in Cox’s Bazar, it’s unbeatable.

A Night by the Sea

After dinner, we strolled along the beach. The moon was out, casting a silver glow on the waves. It was quieter now, with only the sound of the ocean and a few night wanderers like us. We found a spot, sat down, and just soaked it all in. The calmness, the stillness, and the beauty of it all. It’s in moments like these that you realize how small your everyday problems are.

The Goodbye That’s Never Goodbye

We only spent two days in Cox’s Bazar, but it felt like a week’s worth of relaxation. Leaving was the hardest part, as it always is. Every time I leave, I promise myself I’ll come back soon. Cox’s Bazar has that pull, that magnetism that keeps drawing me back. Maybe it’s the beach, maybe it’s the food, or maybe it’s just the feeling of being free from everything, if only for a short while.

This trip wasn’t just about a break from life. It was a reminder of why we need to take these breaks. To recharge, to reconnect with nature, and to spend time with the people we care about. If you haven’t been to Cox’s Bazar yet, you’re missing out on an experience that’s hard to describe, but easy to feel.
